Dear College Freshmen,
Dear college freshmen,
Welcome to college! I am so glad you have made this choice to better yourself and pursue your education. I know you are probably thinking and feeling a million different things right now but just know that you are not alone. There are thousands of others just like you walking around your campus and campuses across the world. Truth is, no one is perfect and no one has it all together. So don't worry about not fitting in right away or not knowing where anything is because you'll figure it out, it just takes time. Take it from the senior who is writing you this letter, no one has it all figured out. So take a deep breath, be sure take care of yourself, and have fun. Enjoy this first week of college and take everything in, even it is seems a bit overwhelming. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. Introduce yourself to those around you. Join a club or group that focuses around something you enjoy. Find a church in your area and get involved with their college ministry. Explore the area and go to all the downtown restaurants. Have late nights filled with laughter and a little too much junk food. Try something new even if it fails. Do whatever makes you happy and know that you got this. I know it's tough being away from your family and your home but consider college your home away from home. I know that's what college is for me and I sure know I am going to miss it.
