Now, I am not the best cook in the world. In fact, I live mostly on anything I can microwave or throw in the oven becacuse a) I'm a college student and b) I don't have the time or motivation to actually learn to cook in this moment. However, I do really enjoy food and I'm trying to learn to cook some basic meals. Here some recipes I either have tried and loved or really want to try out this summer when I have some more time to cook.
Breakfast:
1. Easy Breakfast Burritos -- I made these breakfast burritos the week before this spring semester started and they were so good. I liked how quick and easy they were to just heat up, eat, and go. I modifed this recipe by putting in scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon bits, and sausage for my burritos.
2. Breakfast Casserole --My mom made this recipe but we modified it a lot to fit what we wanted. We used bacon, sausage, frozen hashbrowns, and eggs. We also used almond milk in place of regular milk. We made this for a breakfast we hosted at our house and everyone really enjoyed it.
Main course:
3. Creamy Parmesan Chicken and Rice -- This recipe sounds so delicious and I can't wait to try it out. I've always liked chicken and rice so when I found this easy recipe I thought it would be perfect.
4. Meatball Subs --Another favorite of mine that I always wanted to try to make myself. This seems pretty simple so I'm excited to test this recipe out soon.
Side dishes:
5. Berry Watermelon Fruit Salad -- Summer is quickly approaching and so is my craving for sweet and refreshing summer fruits. This fruit salad looks so yummy and very easy to make.
6. Garlic Green Beans -- My roommate and I made a version of these green beans for Easter lunch this year and they were so yummy. They definitely were all eaten up by the end of the meal.
Desserts:
7. 4 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies -- I absolutely love peanut butter cookies and one weekend I was in the mood to bake so I made these yummy cookies. My only issue was that I did not have any flour or brown sugar so I needed a recipe with limited ingredients. I came across this receipe and the cookies turned out great. It was like they weren't missing any ingredients.
8. Cookie Bars --My roommate brought home some cookie bars and let me try one. Oh my goodness they were so good! I found this recipe that seems similar to one she might have used so I'm excited to try this one out for myself.
Beverages:
9. Strawberry Milkshake -- I love a cool drink on a warm summer day so this strawberry milkshake recipe is the perfect sweet treat. I like this recipe because it fairly simple and only requires a few ingredients and so course a blender.
10. Mixed Berry Smoothie --I am a big fan of smoothies so this berry smoothie is a great one everyone needs to try. I do modify this recipe by using regular vanilla yogurt or a strawberry yogurt instead of vanilla Greek yogurt. Also, I use almond milk instead of apple juice and I add a handful of ice cubes as well.
